  • Blue oyster (Nevada):
    Scientific name: Pleurotus ostreatus

Nevada Blue oyster mushrooms are the larger and more umami cousins of the traditional blue oyster mushrooms. They pack all the nice flavours of traditional blue oysters while providing a larger cap and stem to work with.
Because of that, they give you a large variety of ways to cook them in order to make many exciting and nutritious meals. While the caps have more delicate texture, the stems have nice snap and chew to them which makes them a great and affordable replacement for scallops.

Another great fact about these Nevada blue oyster mushrooms is that they have a considerably longer shelf-life than their other cousins (especially pink and golden oyster mushrooms). When kept in a breathable paper bag, they can last up to a week while maintaining freshness and quality.

Because of that, Nevada blue oyster mushrooms are a great ingredient to have in your fridge for a healthy last-minute snack! Like the rest of the oyster mushroom family, Nevada blue oyster mushrooms are rich in micronutrients (folate, iron, vitamin B3 and B5), high in good quality protein, low in carbohydrates and contain <1 gram of fat.
